JioAirFiber was revealed last month during the Reliance AGM event, and it is set to launch today. The pricing of this new AirFiber service is expected to play a crucial role in shaping up the broadband market. Reliance Jio will be announcing the pricing on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Reliance Jio has pledged to provide speeds exceeding 1Gbps, depending on the location, which surpasses the speeds offered by most basic broadband plans in the country.
Jio Fiber employs wired fiber optic cables, whereas Jio AirFiber utilizes wireless signals for internet connectivity in homes and offices.
Jio AirFiber offers blazing internet speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps, surpassing the 1 Gbps speed provided by Jio Fiber.
While Jio Fiber boasts a wider coverage area, it may not be accessible in all locations. In contrast, Jio AirFiber can deliver coverage virtually anywhere since it doesn’t depend on last-mile physical infrastructure.
Reliance Jio has introduced its JioAirFiber service along with updated JioFiber plans and JioFiber Max plans. Existing JioFiber tariffs for current users remain unchanged.
Notably, JioFiber Entertainment Bonanza plans, allowing users to access a collection of up to 14 OTT apps for an additional monthly fee of Rs. 100 or Rs. 200, are still available.
Among the new plans, there’s a 100Mbps plan at Rs. 1199 offering access to 14 OTT apps, Netflix, 1 year of Amazon Prime, and JioCinema Premium. The 150Mbps plan at Rs. 999 remains available but doesn’t include Netflix and JioCinema Premium.
Additionally, JioCinema Premium, originally priced at Rs. 999 per year, will now be bundled with JioFiber Max plans, and it’s also included with JioAirFiber plans priced at Rs. 1199 and above.
This inclusion of JioCinema Premium is a beneficial addition to Jio’s offerings for its users. While these new details haven’t appeared on the official Jio website or app yet, they are expected to be updated soon.
